Broad blue-grey strokes pass over a darker ground, leaving the fabric’s weave visible. In the lower half, torn paper carries fragments of dark drawing and pale pink colour. Small scraps held by staples along the upper edge register the removal of a separate sheet, while the surviving marks resist resolution into a complete image.
